Mat and Deb Emerick married in June of 1997, sparking a 20+ year performing arts partnership named “The Patchwork Pear”. Mat contributed expert mime, juggling and clowning skills; and Deb contributed her beautiful singing voice, and guitar skills. This beloved partnership is the heart of “Patchwork Pear Place”. Tragically, Deb passed away on July 7th, 2024 after a long battle with brain cancer. Mat founded “A Patchwork Pear Place” in honor of their partnership and Deb’s legacy.

Deb was an incredible artist and teacher, touching many lives with her talents. Deb was not only a recording musical artist who showcased her talents all over the country, but also a worship leader, guitar teacher, talented mosaic and cement artist, and art teacher.

Mat, alongside some of his closest (and incredibly talented) friends and family, bring you this non-profit, community creativity center. Our hope is to encourage musicians and artist; young and old, masters and newbies, to come together and grow in their creativity and talent.
